Overview

Good parts start with a good tool.

Arro began in 1952 as a two-man die shop, designing and building tooling for the automotive, hardware and appliance makers around Jamestown and Buffalo. Tooling is still the heart of the business.

Our tool and die makers build progressive and secondary dies, fixtures, prototype tooling and special purpose machines. Since they also support our own press room, every die is built by people who know exactly how it will run.

01

Progressive dies

Multi-station dies that pierce, form and cut parts in a single pass through the press.

02

Secondary and single-hit dies

Dies for single operations, larger parts and follow-up features.

03

Fixtures

Fixtures for welding, assembly and machining that hold parts consistently, every time.

04

Prototype tooling

Lower-cost tooling to prove a design before you commit to production dies.

05

Special machines

Special purpose machines built for jobs that standard equipment does not cover.

06

Tryout at the press

Dies are tried out and tuned on our own presses before production begins.

How a job runs

Print to part,
under one roof.

One team takes your job from the first look at the print to parts on your dock.

  1. 01

    Review

Send a print, a model or a sample part. We check it for manufacturability and quote it.

  2. 02

    Engineer

Tooling and process are designed in 2D and 3D CAD, with Mastercam and Esprit for the machine work.

  3. 03

    Build the tool

Our tool and die makers build and tune the tooling in house.

  4. 04

    Run

Parts run on our equipment, then get machined, welded or assembled as the job needs.

  5. 05

    Ship

Checked against your print and shipped, ready for your production line.

Questions

Good questions,
straight answers.

Something else on your mind? Call 716-217-6800 and talk to someone who knows the shop.

Will you build tooling that runs somewhere else?
Talk to us about your job. Most of our tooling runs in our own press room, and our sister company Rowley Tool & Die also builds progressive tooling and offers die design and Wire EDM work.
Can you work from an existing part with no drawing?
Often, yes. Send us the part and what you know about it, and our engineers will tell you what it takes to reproduce it.
Do you maintain the dies you build?
Yes. Dies that run in our press room are maintained by the same toolroom that built them.

Let's build it.

Drawings, models, a sample part or just an idea. Tell us what you need and our team will follow up with questions, options and a quote.
